Verena Herzog

Wine Educator

After training as a hotel manager in her hometown of Seesen in Germany, Verena worked at Hotel Traube Tonbach in Baiersbronn, one of the leading hotels in Germany. It was this experience that sparked her desire to devote her career to wine.

Verena is an accomplished sommelier with a degree from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK ) in Koblenz and has had a successful career working in excellent restaurants including Parkhotel Egerner Hof with chef Michael Fell, Willy Weber’s restaurant in Stuttgart, and Stefan Steinheuer’s two Michelin starred restaurant in Heppingen. While working and travelling extensively, Verena continued to study wine and completed her WSET Diploma qualification in 2009.

In 2012 she took on the next challenge to become a Master Sommelier and is well on her way having completed the Introductory and Certified qualifications. That same year Verena became the brand ambassador for France’s Pays d'Oc IGP. For the past few years Verena has dedicated herself entirely to wine education through seminars, events, courses and workshops. Her enthusiasm is truly contagious.
