    VDP.GUTSWEIN, VDP.ORTSWEIN, VDP.ERSTE LAGE® and VDP.GROSSE LAGE® are some of the terms that can be found on wine labels of renowned German VDP.Estates.

    The Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) is an elite group of some 200 of the best German vintners who are committed to terroir-driven viticulture at the highest level.

    Berlin Wine School teamed up with the VDP to give this masterclass on the VDP.Wine. Classification to taste wines from each quality level and gain more insight into the diversity and quality of the association’s wines.

    The main focus of this unique masterclass will be the meaning behind the labeling terms in relation to the quality of the wines.

    Also, you might learn how to pronounce some vineyard names (we know this can be challenging for non-German speakers) and what type of terroir these names stand for. 

     

    During the masterclass we will go through three flights (sets) of wines:
